Xiu-lan and her fisherman boyfriend Xiao-ma are so in love, but Xiu-lan eventually leaves him because she is such a material girl that she couldn’t bear the poor life in the village any longer. She follows Ms Pan to the city wishing to earn money, only to be sold to a brothel. Refusing to have sex with her customer, Xiu-lan wounds him and runs away. Luckily she is saved and taken in by a boss named Fang Gan, who later on brings her to his coffee plantation. |
