Ye Ta-chiang and his sister Hsiang-lan are orphans. Fang Chin-min is Hsiang-lan’s boyfriend but they cannot get married because both families are poor. Chin-min decides to make a living as a sailor going abroad. But Hsiang-lan gets importuned by Li Pao, a squire with evil intentions. Finally she marries him because their living comes to the dead end. Chin-win is back but all that has happened makes him leave with sorrow. |
