In the mid-1930s, a KMT divisional commander named Liu Shao-ji covets the beauty of famous Sichuan opera actress Hua Yun-fang.  Liu buys off the troupe leader to kill actor Cao Yu-kun and Mu Xiao-lou who are always protecting her. Hua has no choice but to agree to marry Liu, on condition that she acts in the last show before wedding.
